There are many perspectives on burning fat and shaping up, but taken out of context- the following 4 points won’t help you out.

Lie #1) Eating Nothing

Your body is NOT designed to run on only caffeine products and low calories. Losing body fat requires a reasonable and steady diet that nourishes your body and keeps you healthy.

 

 

 

 


Lie #2) Steady State Cardio

This is the “fat burn” setting on the treadmill or elliptical. You can burn a lot of calories working out on a treadmill, and fat does burn at low intensities, BUT, you can burn more with the right interval training.

 

 

 


Lie #3) Potions, lotions, and gizmos

People don’t magically get out of shape, and you can’t magically get into better shape. It takes changing your mind and actions.

Using quick fixes to change your body is not a lifestyle and doesn’t mean you are getting healthier because the number on the scale changed.

 

 

 


Lie #4) Diets

Here’s 3 flaws that can make diets more harmful than helpful.

1- They aren’t sustainable. We start with motivation but the diet is too hard to maintain, not fun, and restrictive.

2- Many times you are getting too little energy from foods or not the right spread of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber, electrolytes, antioxidants, protein, fatty acids).

3- They aren’t designed for you– there are different metabolic types and body types. A proper ‘diet’ takes into consideration your body type, body composition, and your metabolic type.
