Did you know you can enjoy the feasts and festivities this season without compromising on your nutrition and health goals? Here’s how.

Many people compromise on their nutritional plan through the Holidays, slowing down their progress.

This year let’s throw a curveball at the holiday and do the unexpected, stay on track!

1) Enjoy Your Food

Think about enjoying the taste and quality of your food, not the quantity. This one mindset can take you far with staying on track through the onslaught of meals, snacks, desserts and booze. Focusing on enjoying the appropriate portions will help you feel satisfied, and you’ll realize you feel full with less food.

2) Don’t eat just to eat

The food you eat can help you or it can hurt you. Eating the wrong stuff, or just too much food in general doesn’t help you get to where you want to go. Remember we are using food to support you towards your fitness goals.

Be mindful.

3) Premeditate Your Portions

Just use your normal portions of proteins, carbs, and veggies. Portions aren’t just about how much is on your plate, but how many plates you have as well. Wait 20-30 minutes to see if you really need to go back for seconds.

5) Chew Your Food

I mean chew it all the way.

• Enzymes in the saliva go to work on the food even before it hits your gut, so you’re getting better digestion by chewing more.
• The second reason to really chew your food is to take time tasting and enjoying the food, which will suppress the desire to eat more of it.

5) Share Your Dessert

Dessert is an easy way for extra calories to sneak their way in, don’t let them!! Again the key is enjoying the taste, not just piling food on. This is the advice I will be taking most. Have half a portion and take your time.

6) Blame Beverages

  • wine
  • beer
  • soda
  • juices
  • ciders

These all pack quite the calorie count. Just watch your portions with these sugary drinks. Drink water! And a little bit of eggnog of course

7) Stay Active

Go on a walk with the family

  • Burn Calories
  • Circulate blood
  • Keep Your Metabolism UP
  • Relieve Stress
  • Great time for conversation

Do a simple workout from home,
Get some friends involved and make it fun!

8) Be Thankful & Have Fun

If you’ve read this far it’s simply because you want the same thing I want- to be fit and healthy and have control over my life. At Training For Warriors we use a proven system to help people burn more fat, get stronger, and stay motivated along their plan.
